The eligibility criteria for ADWU is as follows:

• Aged 14-18 years
  
• Alcohol and/or other drug related difficulties
  
• Willingness to participate in the program
  
• Willingness to abide by the house rules, designed to ensure safety for all
  
• A candidate where an uncomplicated withdrawal is anticipated

Resident feedback to date has been very positive and most has acknowledged the importance of having a safe place to go to withdraw from drugs and the lifestyle associated with it. This has given them time to think, relax and continue the process of change.
