| | The Out-Clients counselling service provides individual counselling to young people between 12 and 25 years who have difficulties with their own or others alcohol or other drug (AOD) use, and also to their family and carers. The aim is to assist young people in managing their life in relation to AOD use and related issues. It focuses on minimising risk factors and promoting protective factors that reduce the harm from drug use. The Ted Noffs Foundation can assist families and carers in managing stress, anxiety or isolation as a result of their child’s AOD use. Out-Clients can provide information on drugs and on communication with a young person regarding their drug use. Family sessions may be appropriate as mediation between the young person and their family. Out- Clients may be able to assist with family breakdowns and resolve issues related to the young person’s drug or alcohol use, facilitate change or assist with their return home. |
